Sometimes the best part of travel is the unexpected. Perhaps it was the energy of the spiritual desert town. Perhaps it was luck. Maybe it was a little of both. We didn't know we were going to Sedona when we woke up that morning, but the second the red rock buttes came into view we knew we were in for a treat.
The first sunset still simmers vividly in my mind. We already knew that the city was beautiful, but we didn't know just how special it was until the sun started its descent. The rock faces all around us became illuminated with the golden glow of the sun before relaxing into their rich red hues. You could feel the earth breathe and center as the evening light enriched our view and we were overcome with reverence for this place and its power.
